The Tunaweza Foundation is a NGO that strives to provide equal opportunities for disabled children
and integrate them into the mainstream while helping them maintain their dignity.
The Home was started by Sister Lucy Amoit in 2005 after children with severe disabilities
were left abandoned outside her church.
The Salama School for the Blind was built in April 1999 by the local government in Mukono, about 25 kilometers from the country’s capital city, Kampala.
“I would like to go back to school in order to upgrade myself so that I can get better
employment so as to educate my children and sustain myself. I am crippled,
I cannot do any manual work from which I can get income for my sustainability.” Lucy Gizagiza
At the Old Kampala Senior Secondary school the founding trustees attended when growing up in Uganda,
Polio and Children in Need Charity is providing school fees and covering
the cost of transportation for Tracy, seen here with Arun Patel PACINC co-founder.
