Subhdra Patel

BSc(Hons), PGCE

Subhdra Patel started her charitable work when she was only 8 years old. Ever since then, giving and helping less fortunate individuals has become a way of life for her.

Her first encounter with polio was when she met Arun Patel, although she never considered it to be a debilitating disease until many years later when she visited India and saw the devastating mixture of poverty and polio. She has been involved with Polio Children since inception.

Subhdra has brought her organisational skills and expertise to help run Polio Children’s administration and its fund-raising activities.

As a trustee she also pays regular visits to review the various projects and gets huge satisfaction and fulfillment from transforming the lives of extremely poor disadvantaged children. She gets a special kick from getting as much as possible out of every pound donated.

She has a family, has worked for an international investment bank and is currently in the finance industry.
