MISSION

Following the widespread use of the polio vaccine in the 1950’s, new cases of polio declined dramatically.
In 1988, there was a global effort to eradicate polio led by the World Health Organisation (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the International Rotary Foundation.

The world is now nearly polio-free. However, despite the near-eradication of the disease, those who have been inflicted by polio continue to be challenged socially, culturally, and physically. In many nations, a social stigma exists for those who have polio, resources for education and work integration are not available, and much needed medical facilities and equipment are hard to find.

The mission of Polio and Children in Need  Charity (PACINC) is to provide nutritional, educational, healthcare, and vocational training support to children with polio or other neuromuscular disorders and for those children who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with the singular goal of making them independent and productive citizens.

VISION

We envision a world in which every child with polio, other neuromuscular disorders, or socio-economic disadvantages will have the opportunity to lead a fulfilled life.  We can do this together through a variety of projects this charity has already established.

When we give children in need the tools to better themselves, we help ourselves too.  Children who are less abled, disenfranchised, and in poverty, when given tools to be a part of their community, make contributions bettering themselves, their community, and the world.

Polio and Children in Need Charity already has projects in place that have helped hundreds of children with polio and other disabilities and disadvantages.

Programs include promoting educational activities, providing nutritional support, enhancing access to healthcare services, and funding vocational training centers, so that children grow, learn, and become productive members in their communities.

No amount of donation is too small. Please extend a hand and give the gift of wellness for life.

VALUES

At the heart of the charity lies the value to nurture personal growth through instilling hope, dignity, self-help, and independence for those children who are afflicted by polio, other neuromuscular disorders, or are underprivileged due to their social and economic background.
